Rewind the Hits was a radio show that aired on various radio stations between 2005 and 2009. It started in 2003 as “Rewind the Clock” an alternative to the BBC’s Golden Hour on local radio station Swindon FM. It was produced by Johnny Robinson and Ian Rowe.
When they broke away from Swindon FM in 2005 it was renamed and Rewind the Hits, and would air on Community Radio Swindon, Monday – Friday for the month long trial in 2005.
With the licence awarded in 2007, Johnny started producing new episodes as a back catalogue and offered the show to other stations. Unfortunately due to a hard drive failure in 2011 a number of the shows were lost but the whole of the 1980s was discovered, as was some of the 1990s and the 1970s shows. We’ll upload those, and maybe make some new versions of the other years, but here is the 80s in all their glory.
Johnny produced as “Radioshock media” until 2014 when he and university friends, Jelmer Lelieveld, Robin Smith and Zoe Fell created Sound Gorillas and the show was on the website until it closed in 2019
